Hi there, i have a query about one of my heads
I have a minispeed stage 3 head that i had on my car but it kept blowing head gaskets so i took the head off and replaced it. then i got the head checked as i assumed it was warped and needed skimmed, turns out its already been skimmed and had far too much taken off it so its a really high compression, consequently blows head gaskets. It needs a decompression plate fittted when it is being used.
My question is, how much is it worth in this state?
I have a receipt from the previous owner from minispeed for £350
Is it even worth selling?

Could any metal be machined out of the combustion chamber to lower the compression ratio?

I wouldnt think its worth all that much to be honest, i would say £50 max really, as in theory the head is now scrap if the chambers cant be opened out...

what size engine is this for ?
a engine with a rebore might bring the compression ratio down a bit

its for a 998cc.
I think you'd be able to open out the compression chamber on as there is no work done to this section. I know my dave vizard head i have on now has been opened out considerably around the compression chamber.
