when i get a mini (soon with any luck) i was pondering over a nice set of autometer gauges.. but which ones are best on a mini?
big tacho, fuel gauge (obviously), water temp, oil temp/pressure, air/fuel ratio, volts?
anyone else done aftermarket gauges and have any tips or problems i might experience?

The main ones you need are oil presure, water temp and rev counter.
For an oil temp gauge to actualy be effective, you need it to take the temp of the oil in the sump, by the time it gets to the take off point at the top of the block, its changed temp and wont give and acurate picture of wots going on in your engine.
Volt meters and ameters are ok, but they dont really have an important job, they jus tell you how much power you using with your lights on or stereo up full, and how much power is going back into your battery.
Guages are the eyes of your engine, but having too many can make you parranoid, you see one gauge reading a bit low and you panic over nothing.
