Hi Guys,
I have a 1993 Rover Mini Mayfair with the 1275 engine. He has a K&N induction kit and a stainless steel fletcher exhaust, but apart from that hes completly standard.
I want to know what my average MPG is.
My Mini isnt my only car, i also have a nice chunky BMW 5 series - but with money the way it is at the moment, and the fact that my BMW dose 31mpg (when driven like miss daisy) i am seriously considering using my mini as my main car. Nice and cheap, and great fun - And i get to park it next to my bosse's brand new Bently which offends him
I recently brought an app for my iPhone called Gas Cubby - and my aim over the next few weeks is to see what my average mpg on my mini is. I know it sounds a bit sad, but lets face it, our cars are all old so the original spec is useless, and most minis have been modded in some way which could effect the mpg.
I will let you know what my results are, but has anyone else monitored their mpg?
Would love to hear the results
Thanks
Marc

mine loves the stuff
Before the rebuild, i would struggle to get 20 mpg
running a 998 stage one
the worst I ever got was 5-9mpg

Nearly 50MPG out of a shagged 998
I just monitor it at the pump...if miles/10>litres then you're getting above 45mpg:) Have been getting some crap economy lately but the cold weather hasn't been helping...oh yes and the binding brakes

1275cc engine, HIF44 carb, standard airfilter with K&N element, I got 1/14,7 (l/km) or about 40-41mpg. Highway driving, and Air Conditioner on...

I get 35-40 MPG on my 1380.
I don't drive like my Nan either, after all, you don't spend all of your money on a 1380 to drive it like a granny.
I've filled it up, gone for a thrash (redline every gear) and managed 29 MPG.
If your getting below 30 in a car anything below stage 1 you've either got a broken car or towing your house with you.
Mini's may be old but have great MPG.
