I hear what your saying but small stretch aint ganna make you insurance invalid ? i gat a 323 mm stretch .Im not talking about a massive stretch ? Im sorry i think your wrong .

Unfortunately Robbie, your insurance company doesn't really care what you think. Tyre manufacturers list what rim sizes a particular model and size of tyre is suitable for. Fit your tyres to anything not on the list and your insurer want to know. If you don't tell them you aren't covered.

As for your right to disagree, expressing your opinion is different from giving advice. You glibly tell people just to do whatever comes into their heads without thinking it through, as long as it looks good. Consider what will happen if something goes wrong. Ignoring for a moment the fact that all our members are different and that they all have different levels of ability and knowledge that they can use when following your simplistic advice, what if it does all go wrong for them? What if someone modifies their car according to your personal idea of what makes it look good without understanding how that might limit its abilities? What if as a direct result of your advice they come off the road and kill themselves or other people? Please think before you type.

On another matter, as far as trying to produce a Mini that has never been done before goes, just give up. Fifty years of modified Minis have covered pretty much everything. I know of cars running huge negative camber (see, by putting negative camber I make it clear that I know what it means) and as far as is possible, safely stretched tyres (safety beaded rims, inner tubes, etc.). These are cars setup specifically for track day use. One in particular looks amazing and belongs to a member (who is also a skilled meachanic and knows how to do what he has done). It doesn't do well as a road car in town though and that's the point, most track or show cars don't.
