I use castrol in mine for no other reason than that it is well known and someone told me that it was pretty good?

20w50...
As for brands, well let me put it this way: next week I'll be doing an oil change... and I'll be using something that costs aroun 5-8 pounds per gallon.
My car leaks oil, and I am not gonna let it leak castrol!

You pay for what you get in my expereince with oil. I use semi synthetic Castrol 10w40.
If i'm running an engine in, I use cheap C**p that goes thin at the site of an engine, then change it after about 200 miles

Well for the older mini's 60-70's the oil was no where near as good as they are today so today's cheap oils are going to be just as good or maybe better.
What do you recommend I use for mine? Mineral, Semi etc? Also what grade? The car came with 10w40..... But It was only to top it up so It really needs changing as don't know whats in it.
Thanks,
Dan
