i did an engine swap between two mini's in my name. I sent off both V5's in the same envelope, clearly showing that its a straight swap. They sent me the V5's back seperately, stating that i need an engineers report for each one.

I phoned them to explain but they just said that each V5 is now dealt with by seperate admin staff, and that just 6months ago they would have accepted them being sent together as proof.

My other issue now is that i need an engineers report on one of the engines that after being skimmed, doesnt have an engine number on the block.

Just make up a number - it can be anything, as long as it is fixed to that engine, or indeed typed directly onto the block. But who is the 'engineer' who will write the report ?
