That a brillant idea! One of the main problems i have is the lack of cup holders (Seriously, the amount of times i've spilt a drink on the passengers seat >_>)

Would cups not sit straight in? How about just some rubber U shaped edge trim lining the hole to 'grip' the cup/can.

It looks as if the heater vent needs to be in the screen position while you're using the holder, is this the case.

Looks like a great bit of kit though and something that's definately missing from the Mini scene!

If it folded would it maintain its streanth though? Imagine the weight from 2 large starbucks coffees. Thats a lot of weight. I presume this will be screwed into the heater for its strengh?

if it is could you not just make it slightly longer so it doenst fail on the heater switch?

I agree. if your going to make these to sell then id get yourself down to the patent office and get one if I were you, I think these are going to be really, really popular and every other company is going to want to copy the design. Imitations is the best form of flattery until it means your loosing £! If your not going to sell them, i have every confidence someone will!

I have a couple of suggestions of my own, try and make the holes different sizes. Either have interchangeable holes to suit different cup sizes (if its designed for a can a burger king large drink will tend to fall over) or, look at the cup holders in something like a mk5 golf. there a great idea as they have like a "claw" like holder that holds the drinks. the bigger the cup the wider the "claw" opens.

My other idea is to make a cup holder of a different design somewhere else. I have always wanted a cup holder in the door pocket (the door pockets would need to be redesigned to accomodate this and/or a cup holder that fits in the huge Mk1 door pockets.

You can't patent something after you've published it.

I have one of these... bought from er, another country. :( Very neat idea and I'd be in the market for another one too!
