Ok as per title, how do you attach a spit roast to your '90's mini....
can see my only option is to go through the back window, but then the center of gravity will be way out
any pictures folks?

seems most people cut through the rear bulkhead dead center and run the pole through there, if you dont fancy that there is now spits that dont use the scaffold pole through the middle

The front is the same as the one in the photo, but the rear has a slightly different attachment which mounts onto the rear damper mounts. I asked the seller the same question about my Estate. When you buy, you need to let him know what variant you have,

This is how I've mounted mine. I didn't want to cut a hole in the seat pan so I welded a scaffold bar to the horizontal bars. I used some washers to fill in the "cups" (where the top susspension mount goes) on the rear wheel arches to avoid bending them. I also added the spreader plates seen attached to the seat pan to stop it flexing.
I bought the spit from the guy on ebay but I modded it a bit by adding extra strength plates and some wheels so I could move it around the garage.

Hi,
I made one, pretty much a straight copy of this one:
spit roast
The scaffold does pass straight through the rear window,. It is off centre of gravity, but i dont find it too difficult to get the mini up 90degrees from horizontal. Cutting a hole in the rear seats would make it easier to turn, but then you gotta weld it back up.
At longbridge they yused something similar you tube video. mini is on a spit at about 4min 15secs, though it does look like it has some kind of counterweight?
The ebay one and the one LukeH has look like a nice handy system
TA few photos of my spit jig

I cut a hole in the rear bulkhead for mine.
Check out my project pages for info.
Oh, and mine will be for sale shortly as I've nearly finished with it. Any interest, send me a pm
Cheers and good luck
