Hey mate, great job, holy crap that was some rust!

I'm in Australia and have bought a UK built mini 1000 and wanted to know what your has in the centre dash rail and do you know why the little tabs are there? Mine had a lot of dodgy things done to it and currently has a cd player sitting there but I don't know if its standard or not. thanks

Now I had a bit of a problem with the right side fuel tank. I bought new straps for it, and even fully tightened, it wasn't touching the tank to hold it down. I may have a weird tank, I don't know.

So I took a perfectly good and new fuel tank strap and cut it 1 inch

Nice and solid now!

I fitted the front bumper. It is a brand new stainless steel part. I bought it back in 2009...! I had to cut the ends to fit with the arches. I think it went well. It was less of a job than to relocate the arches.

I found a bodyshop to make the finishing touches to the body and paint! It turns out that it's a Mini enthusiast and he has seven Minis himself... I think it will be in good hands. I will bring it to him around December. So for now I have to drill all the holes that I need because I don't want to drill into a freshly painted body.

 

That includes:

-Door mirrors

-Reversing lamp in valance

-Spot Lamps

Spot lamps fitted! Looks nice. Two of these brackets already lost their paint because they spent a Canadian winter in front of my old SAAB. Will have to repaint them someday. The goal for now was only to drill the holes at the right place on the front panel.

Rear bumper is fitted. I had to cut each ends, same as the front. It fits quite well.

Now I had this to take care of. First thing I noticed is that the slider button was stuck in its place. So I had to disassemble it all to realize it was just stuck in rust.

 

 

 

And surely I had to replace that nasty matrix

I recreated the felt pads myself, I think it works well

Everything repainted and assembled, looks new!
