hi me again, i have some new supspension cones and the haynes says to do it a ceartan way and i have tried this way the front were fine and very easy, but the rear ones are being b*****ds and wont come out, i think the radius arm isnt dropping down properly to relve the pressure is there any magic way of removing theses things bearing in mind the new ones will be even harder to put back, thanks, Dan

have you removed the shocks? if you have you should be able to push the radius arms down and the cones should just fal out

i tried that but they seem to be completly stuck, either that or i am an idiot and missed a nut somewhere :)

Should be four nuts on a mini with internal hinges.

nope i got the nut holding the rear shocks of on both ends but it wont budge and it also won't just slide of the bottom bolt...........help me

There's two nuts on the top of the shock which you will have to remove. You'll be lucky to get it off the bottom mount with it still being conntected at the top...

they are a big pain in the ass, remove the shock complete and then drop the radius arm completey down then get a big hammer and hit the cone and strut then it shud be all lose, it still wont come out but will be loose. then get a 2 small crobar's and try and compress the cone whilst pulling to pop it out. very simple but big pain. :)

i have 2 15" screwdrivers i didnt know there were two nuts to the top half though! thats why it was stuck! this will all be tried on sunday, weather permitting, as if it wont rain now that i may have the answer many thanks, dan

yay, i replaced the rear cones, and the shocks for good measure! your help and comments gave me the motivation to try again, turs out the radius arms wouldn't drop because the hand brake was on! and the shocks needed a goog hard whack from a mallet (they were fused to the turrets)
