Probably something simple that one of you could help me with..

The drivers side front and rear indicators arent working... the side repeater is working, but not the front and back.

Could it just be bulbs (seems strange that 2 would have gone at the same time) or could something else, a relay perhaps have gone?

clean then the fuses and fuse connectors and the black wiring connectors behind the grill.

Sorted mine out, also check the fuses are the correct rating.

Ok, ive solved most of the problem by replacing bulbs.. however the front right one, has blown two different bulbs now.

the one that was in it, blew, then i put another in, which worked fine for a few seconds then blew?

Any ideas why this might be?

Something could be stuck in the bulb holder (road dirt or grease) and shorting out the bulb slightly.

Or you put the wrong grade of bulb in! Should be a P21 (pear 21watt).

A short cannot cause a bulb to fail

Either you are fitting the wrong type of bulb, your battery voltage is too high due to a faulty alternator ( most unlikely) or you were just unlucky and fitted a bulb that had a life of 5 seconds !!

It was definately the right type of bulb (fitted to the rear successfully too) and cant be too high voltage surely, as that would affect them all not just one...

And im sure i didnt get 2 bulbs with 5 seconds of life?!

Im going for the road dirt, water or something in there perhaps causing problems?

I agree that the voltage being high wpuld most likely affect all your bulbs

But it cannot be a road dirt problem if the bulb is actually blowing

The only effect that road dirt can have is to provide a low resistance path to earth on a particular buld and the result of this would be to blow the fuse.

The effect (if any) that road dirt would have on the bulb is to reduce the voltage that it 'sees' and therefore increase its life

Are you sure that the bulb is actually blowing ?
