How do I remove my old door barrels and boot barrel to replace with the new ones I have just purchased?

first you need to remove the handle ( or boot lock ) from the car, then you'll find there's spring clamp washer on the end, remove that but keeping an eye on where it shoots off too as you'll need it..
Insert the original key, and the lock will just drop out...
Refitting is reversal of above procedure :cheese:

It's not easy without the key, but the bestway maybe to drill the lock tumbler out..
*edit*... sorry read post again, the boot is locked shut :nugget:
If you are lucky, you may be able to undo the hinge bolts, of the car has not been repaired, it's likely that the bolts on the inside are covered with seam sealer which will prevent them from moving when you try and undo the bolts... failing that you could drift out the pin which holds the two parts of the hinge together....
Other ideas are the rear parcel shel has holes in it and if you have skinny arms, you maybe able to get to the bolts for the lock that way...

OR the way I got the locks off my 2nd hand doors
Try hammering a flat-headed screwdriver in the lock
And if it fits tightly enough u should b able to open the boot
Does mean that the lock barrel will be fcuked
u could but there r 2 screws that are hiddern when boot is shut

yep might do
will have to get a new petrol cap
prob best not to do this
as u may end up with bits falling into the tank and blocking fuel lines

I'm sure Mini keys changed after the Mk3... but the early cars had some very, very, rudimentary profiles with only a few pins. It wouldn't take much to pick them. I'm sure a local lock smith could unlock them for you. Once unlocked they would be replaced as mentioned above. Since you're talking about replacing them, I don't think drilling them out is such a bad option. The screwdriver option is a bit riskier as you are still looking at a lot of prying and high-torque twisting to free the lock core. You stand the risk of doing some serious panel damage along the way.
There are matched key/core kits available from places like MiniSpares. I re-keyed my car so I only have one key that unlocks everything. However, common key lock sets for Mk1/2 cars are NLA. I had to buy a Mk3 set and machine the lock cores to fit my ignition and door handle. It was a bit of work but well worth it to only have one key to worry about.
