Hi everyone, let me explain, my friend has a mini, i have a modified SJ410 and i need a new carb, i noticed that she had a HIF38/1 1/2 2 bolt fitting carb, which is what i need. What i want to ask is does anyone have one they could sell or know where i can get one cheap. PLEASE HELP

most 998 Metro's have them fitted (up to 1990), and some 1275 Mini's between 1990 and 1993 (only the sprite, mayfair and italian job though).
To fit the SJ410 you will need to modify the manifold quite heavily, as a mate and I had to do with his when he fitted a HS4

Hay minis 84 i checked out difflock and they say it is a straight fit, as i have a SJ410 jap not spanish

they appear to be saying you need an adaptor plate, which is what we had to make....although I wasn't there all the way through the conversion i'm afraid, i supplied the carb, started to help then got dragged into other stuff. :sad:
Incidentally, all HIF38's are 4-bolt rather than 2 bolt, the HS4 (side float chamber) is 2 bolt.
The HIF38 would be best for the 1000 SJ though, as they say, and is better for off-road use.

modification is need, but the big question is do you know anyone who has a second hand one or where i can get one as over at difflock they are few and far between and loads of individuals are looking for them, if you know anyone or anyone has one i would be greatfull

I used to, but they were a bit poorly so I gave them away - I'll have a scout down at my scrappers though - have you tried ebay?

yeap, when one comes on ebay it doesn't last long, if u find more than one make a post on difflock.com as there are people wanting them, and thank you
