How difficult would it be to reverse the pedals and have the master cylinders face into the cockpit? If you have it sorted then it doesn't matter but it may be an option if you get stuck.

Good idea on reversing the cylinders but hopefully will all fit nicely as is - yours is looking top, love the wheels and custom nuts, what was the thinking behind those?.

No worries on roof, was only semi serious!! All the best with the project.

So tank is in, haven't seen it in the flesh yet but looks good, v happy with it. Was a long old struggle getting the design sorted as quite a few variables on the inlets and outlets etc. but it all fits and cover will have about 10mm clearance.

Spencer Morgan at SM Engineering did the fab and was incredibly patient and helpful and is clearly a bit handy with the welder. Matt's also done a lovely battery restraint - holes as usual!

Cheers,

Al

And in other news, Matt sorting seat tube supports and brackets which will sit between the ali bracket and cage providing some adjustability.

As you can see trying to get the brackets to sit level on the tubes running front to back was a bit of a challenge and the intermediary brackets would need to allow for the offset levels side to side. Matt's done a sterling job getting it all to fit as the seats are nice and narrow but much taller than most. I think the bends around the tunnel look great and as they meet the sills in the angle they don't interfere with the swaged holes. More to follow soon.

Thanks guys, lads have been working hard recently, coming together well.

So, these pics are from last weekend, looking good with seats/brackets/supports in place but have a tyre issue - I imagined there would be many issues to overcome but this wasn't one of them!

Basically I sent Carl Austin, Force Racing chap, an email saying I like these wheels (showing a picture of Stuart Wright's turbo with 10s) and could I order the same. So I've got a 3" inner and 4" outer with 165 A032Rs but as you can see they just don't fit! Stuart has 165 A008s and his wheels are apparently even wider than mine as they were some of Carl's early ones so we can only assume that the problem is due to the sidewall profile or tread of the tyres as they're theoretically the same size. Any ideas would be much appreciated though. Think the answer is to get some new inner rims which are slightly narrower as I want to keep the tyres so been trying to contact Carl, hopefully this is where the modular wheel plan option will pay off!

Many thanks.

Doors coming along, decided to go down the steel/ali route but seriously lightened as saw what Matt did to his Metro race car doors - small swaged holes round the frame look really good and overall these are only a couple of kgs heavier than my grp set.

Really happy with the handles and holes on the inners too, alloy finish looks good but going to get them painted the body colour just leaving the handles to match the seat brackets, hinges and shifter.

In other news, motor up and running and interfacing with the clocks, fingers crossed the ebay option will be ok when we do a test run in a few weeks time. Brakes ordered up as well and new rear suspension nearly there.

All the best.

Al
