Cylinder Head Bolts

I have had to remove the cyclinder head because of a blown head gasket.

Should I replace the head bolts and nuts. Why should this be done, is it really necesarry.

It is a 1275 standard engine with a stage 1 kit, are the standard bolt set up to the job.

no you dont need to renew the cylinder head studs or nuts, on some cars you do because they use torque bolts, which can only be used once because of the design of then, just another way to get us to spend more money on our cars if you ask mee

Factory bolts on a more or less stock engine can be re-used several times without issue. If you were building a really powerful engine you'd probably want to replace and upgrade the stock fasteners as insurance.
