Hey Guys,

Dave here from Charity Rallies - www.charityrallies.org - just wanted to flag a couple of events to you guys that we organise...we are a UK registered charity called Go Help (www.gohelp.org.uk) and we run charity rallies to raise money for charity. We're all volunteers, and just organise this because we enjoy the road trips and raising cash for charity.

We have three events currently:

The Roof of the World Rally, along the old silk route to Tajikistan - you can take any car you want to Tajikistan, there are no vehicle import rules and the routes are incredible, including a drive on the Pamir Highway (http://en.wikipedia....i/Pamir_Highway) - leaves on July 4, 2010 (its an annual event). The event raises money for Sworde-Teppa, a Tajikistan based international development organisation specialising in sustainable development projects in Tajikistan, which is the poorest country in central Asia. If you're interested, check out roofoftheworld.charityrallies.org or email the organisers, Sophie and Ryan on [email protected] and [email protected]

The Mongolia Charity Rally, the 100% charitable Mongolian rally, is an epic 8,500 mile drive from London to Mongolia that leaves on July 10, 2010 (also an annual event). This event distinguishes itself in a number of ways from the Mongol Rally you may have heard of: (1) its 100% for charity, so your entry fee is not going to pay for the organisers lifestyles, and its half the entry fee of the Mongol Rally; (2) vehicles are legally imported in to Mongolia and either donated or sold transparently - its important to know where your biggest donation is going - try finding out where the Mongol Rally cars end up! and (3) the funds you raise for Go Help go to support projects in Mongolia that we partner with Save the Children and other major charities on, and we have someone in Mongolia full time overseeing the projects.

The Cambodian Tuk Tuk Challenge, an awesome (mini-less) drive round Cambodia on a Tuk Tuk - tuktuk.charityrallies.org - we launched it this Easter. Less relevant to this forum, but cool nonetheless.

Lastly - if you are an aspiring rally organiser - drop us a line. We have a pretty hi-tech event platform that allows us to organise and manage events efficiently online, and our ethos is to bring 100% charitable rallies together under one banner to share back-office functions (avoiding duplication, lowering cost, and maximising charitable revenue) and to ensure high visibility (allowing joint promotion as you can see here).

Any questions, feel free to post or email us at [email protected] or me - [email protected]

Thanks for reading. Great forum guys.

Best regards,

Dave.
