You gonna get wet and cold tomorrow......
 
Tomorrow, Im fitting shelves so will be dry and warm.....

Will be in the garage, just hope the oil leak is something simple on the linkage aha! Put loads of sealant on the engine gaskets so stumped as to why it's leaking aha
Make sure those shelves are strong, don't want anything falling off onto the mini :)

Shelves are inside a cupboard thats been freed up by removing a ruddy great freezer we had in there....

Gonna be about 4 shelves in there, wife has claimed 2 of them.... I get the rest for tool storage and somewhere to keep a few spares dry...

Didn't do anything on the mini yesterday as I was helping a mate drop a Merc engine in his Humber Supersnipe

Today fitted the transfer casing, with new crankshaft oil seal, flywheel and clutch, timing chain cover (almost forgot the oil thrower  ) Tried the old main bearing shell in the starter ring trick to lock the flywheel when torquing the crank and camshaft bolts up - works great.

Not done in a Mini, in someone else's vehicle. Went to Nirvana and shook hands with God. Visited Minisport and went to the Autosport show and shook hands with Paddy Hopkirk.

Cleaned and fitted the wok, de-greased the block and slapped some nice red engine enamel on

New wiper motor, and all other associated parts for wiper mechanism. My wipers actually work now.

Looked at it and reminded myself to book its MoT......

 

Did some work on me other motor, my Volvo V70... god awful barge of a car, but bloody cumfy and great at towing the caravan... fitted a basic Parrot bluetooth handsfree kit, had to order a 'special' lead from Halfords to convert the Volvo wiring to ISO so that the Parrot kit could work.... Must have disturbed something behind the dash because the airbag warning light is on now and I cant turn it off with my OBDII dongle I use, have to take it to Volvo and probably hand over a leg as payment....

Started welding the floor and innersill, need to replace the floor really but can't afford to get the panels at the moment....

Needed to remove the front roll cage half, to gain access to the floor... gonna be a bustard to get back in....

Last year I bought a second mpi moulded carpet which is in near mint condition. As you can see its a deep red colour whereas my original carpet is a brighter red but really pleased with the transformation

In also very pleased to find my floor pan in excellent condition. Not bad for a 45k mile mpi

Sprayed the engine bay of my son's Mini.
Used Hycote rattle cans of Tahiti Blue and was very pleasantly surprised with the outcome!

Tomorrow will be painting the engine in Ferrari red before re-installing the front subframe.

washed half a ton of road salt off the mini after being caught behind a gritting lorry

Today I bit the bullet and removed the oil leaking engine from my moke.Now to get the 1275 out from under the bench and fitted.

Removed my engine ready for strip, balance and rebuild.

Bought a new trolley jack as some one nicked mined from under the car....
