Oil pressure gauge turned up.
Spent carefull time unwinding copper capilary tube.
Fed it through my dash then on to gauge.
Fix gauge in place.
Attached bulb to illuminate.
Run engine up checked for leaks, slight leak found on thread from oil sender to 'T' block, removed sender and used ptfe tape to seal.
Rechecked for leaks, NOT ONE LEAK at all.
Oil pressure at idle drops to 40 psi, when revs are at around 1500-2000 rpm oil pressure picks up to around 60 psi and stays there but as yet to get proper readings due to it not having been road driven yet.

Assuming they're hot readings, it's the same as my fresh build sits at 40-45psi idle and 60psi 1500rpm upwards. Cold readings are just 60psi all the time.

Yep thats correct
When i start up the oil pressure builds to 60 psi
Then when its warm it drops to 40 psi (thats because the oil is now thinner and easier for the pump to pump around).
Then when its warm and i rev it gently to around 1500-2000 rpm it stays at 60psi.
Thats two of us with new built runnng engines and the same readings.
Brilliant.

Almost got the clutch cover off, 2 bottom bolts are a pain and I get bored very quickly of working in the rain! Tomorrow I'll be getting the clutch out and sticking my old pressure plate on I reckon.

Yeah, those two bottom ones are a real sod. I use a bent ring spanner to loosen them.

Not a bad shout, I managed to get them undone  with my arm bent up round the bottom of the subframe and using a ratchet spanner I got about an 1/8 of a turn each go

Removed the passenger side door bar from the roll cage because the missus and kids keep complaining they can't in or out the Mini.....

Iv only just relented after a constant barrage of abuse from the kids and missus.....

I find it no problem to get in and out me Mini :) with the door bar attached, dunno what they're complaining for..... LOL

Clutch out, tested and the new pressure plate isn't releasing when compressed. Old plate back on and it releases fine, so in it goes. Has been balanced to the new one but I haven't got time to get it rebalanced yet. If it's that bad I'll whip it off again and get it balanced.

Almost back together (the bloody flywheel cover bolts are a nightmare!) And hopefully will be alright for L2B. Oil change and radiator change to do, will change the plain water for coolant whilst I switch rads too.

Oil change. New spark plugs. New fuel hose from petrol tank ( really should have emptied the tank first :)). New wipac fog lights. New windscreen wipers.

Just needs a clean, full respray, and completely rebuilding now.

Hopefully it will make it down to London on Saturday :)

Well done, worth the effort.
