Finally got fed up trying to get the roller bearings out of my top arms so I did what I should have done a few months back and just bought brand new top arms, so I've got new donuts, hi-lows and top arms fitted on the passenger side and now waiting for the upper ball joint on the other side to pop off so I can do the other side. Think I did everything properly and hopefully the other side will be done a hell of a lot quicker, only issue is because it's sat all winter it won't start now but I'm hoping it will fire up after I've cleaned the carb out.

Realised the brake lights weren't working and found one of the connections on the pedal switch was broken off. Must have happened when I was putting the fresh air ducting back on a couple of weeks ago O_O , it's a tight fit in front of the pedal and rests against the connections. Did a temporary fix by soldering a piece of wire onto the broken connection and ordered a new switch, this time I'll put it back with the wires pointing the other way so less chance of it coming in contact with the trunking - hopefully.

As its a dryish I decided to take it out of winter hibernation, check all fluid levels etc, started first time, Drove it out the workshop, decided to wash it, then picked my two boys up from school it in, I gave one of their friends a lift too, it was worth it to see all three of them smiling as we dashed along as break neck speed (actually only 25MPH but they thought it was soo cool) and there is the fun in a mini, it might be slow but it always feels fast.. :proud:

Fitted some switches and relays for fogs and spots and to get rid of a couple of random switches I'd installed over the years. Finished for the day and pushed the garage door shut when there was a almighty bang :o It turns out that a WW2 bomb was found up the road in St Helens and the bomb disposal squad carried out a controlled explosion - nearly crapped meself  :shy:

Fogs and spots all working. Spots use a signal from high beam through a switch to operate and fogs similarly from the rear fog lamp.

Decided to replace the N/S A Panel.....

Obviously had to remove the door, it didnt want to be removed and I ended up shearing off the top studs for the hinge.... so now had to repair the door as well as the A Panel... Anyhoo, replaced the A panel and did a small repair to the front of the sill and floor. Drilled out the studs that remained in the hinge and replaced them with bigger bolts, tapped the threads into the hinge and welded the back of the bolts best i could.... really should have covered the window in the door... it now has weld splatter in many places and the window now needs replaceing too.... happy days...

Off to a parents evening thing in the afternoon today then gonna start on the O/S A Panel.... I know exactly what needs doing behind it too.... gonna be a long day today....
