Doing some mods to get a few more ponies from my 850. Im replacing the stock manifold with a freeflow exhaust and making my own intake for the hs2 and going to make a U ram pipe to the filter setup. Also going to put some offset rocker bushings in it. I will put up some pics soon If i can i can figure out how to post them here :)

The best solution for pictures is imgur.com Upload your pictures to it, click on the image you want and a list of options will appear on the right side of screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click copy and then paste the link into your post.

Finally put the correct Mk7 grille back on the mini in matte black colour. I had a black Mk3 grille on before, after I took my original chrome Mk7 grille off, which had the gap in the centre for the external bonnet release. Much better now!

Took the engine out. Just subframes and wiring harness to take out now before starting the welding!

Oh, and realised I'd put the legs on the wrong sides of my engine hoist. Wondered why it wouldn't steer!

Went for a blast in the beast today, fan belt snapped !! good job I had a spare one, fixed that.... then the heater valve fell apart it was an eventful journey

i've been keeping warm trying to get the front hub joints separated - score so far is 2-2. top joints done, bottoms won't shift...may have to resort to dismantling the ball joints to get the hubs off...

What sort of ball joint splitter are you using?

this sort - it's marked '032 RAM Manf & Co' - no idea where it came from & google doesn't return any results

 

 

i've given the tapers another soaking in plusgas and will have another crack at it tomorrow.

 

top joints and track rod ends have been dealt with which has given me enough slack to pop the pot joints so i can get get the engine out, which was the main aim

When you next tighten it up, try and leave room to hit the bottom arm with a hammer where the pin goes through it.
