Started my new engine. Started first turn of the key so let it sit at 2500rpm for 15 then turned it off. But the revs dropped as soon as you press the clutch which isn’t good. Check the easy things first before taking it back out and taking it to bits.
Frustrated.

Removed the standard oil filter housing & feed pipe, ready for the new KAD item!

Thought I would try and clean the seats with my (£14.99 LIDL) steam cleaner, very happy with the result.

Finally removed the sheared rear subframe mounting bolt which spurred me on to finish of mounting suspension back onto the submarine and connect up the brake pipes and handbrake cables.  Most difficult task was getting the trumpet rubber covers mounted correctly on the sockets.  very slippery

Put the full passenger floor in. Lavished it with many hours of welding and grinding...

Cleaned, prepped & painted the engine block & cylinder head.
Looks much better now!

Painted the engine block & head a bit more.
Ordered some VHT wrinkle plus paint for the rocker cover!

Finished preparing it for the Lombard Rally Bath 2018 this coming weekend.

My good friend Bill has arrived from Arizona to do it with me and we are looking forward to a fun weekend with lots of old friends and classic cars.

The 1964 Cooper 'S' looks great and seems to be going well.

Fitted new KAD oil filter housing & feed pipe.
Removed old top engine mount steady bar, ready for new DSN steady bar!

Also checked access to radiator hose jubilee clips......hmmmmm..... very tight!
