Managed to fit. Fit both race cars into a 40ft container ... Clio and drag race buggy .
Front of drag racer (the one in avatar pic) now 4ft up in the air with ratchet straps and Clio slipped underneath.

Now got an empty garage to put new mini in and today going to T cut and polish the OEW roof, fit 2 new rear front subframe mounts,
Take one of the 12" Cosmics off and try to give the polished spokes a clean
Fit seat brackets so that I can get my legs in.

Had a small dent in wing pulled out yesterday ... Dent guy glued a puller to the spot and when mega strong resin had set gradually eased the dent out ... It wasn't much of an indentation but it's perfect now. This can only be done if your paintwork is totally solid .

Got the timing chain cover off, after removing the engine mount, and found the chain to be perfect. I'm thinking the rattling noise I heard was the exhaust blowing as it disappeared on the over run. New LCB and Y piece arriving tomorrow so will soon find out.

After cleaning the timing cover up I notice slight witness marks where I'd knocked the little dimple out when I fitted the duplex gear. Trouble is it's behind the redundant sensor bracket so I cut it off and was able to flatten the dimple out properly. It looked like it was touching very slightly so I doubt it was the cause of the rattle but you never know.

Waiting for stuff to arrive now so I can put it all back together.

Now that is a big improvement. Apart from elbow grease, what did you use? Jim

Had to carefully remove the lacquer on the unpainted rim and spokes.
Tried nitromors but only worked slowly.
Went on to dremel with a scotch brite spindle buff to get the lacquer off and buff out the little bursts.
Finished off with 1200 w/d lubed with wd40 then final polished with autosolve.
Takes about 1hr per wheel to do.
I’m not going to re lacquer the polished alloy but use a good quality wheel wax as you get a nicer patina keeping the alloy “raw”
Just means you need to give wheels a bit more TLC ongoing.
Cheers

Ps
Discovered there are Hi Los or something similar on all 4 corners ... but car sits perfectly without touching them

Finished my interior. I took my time over it, wanted to get it right. Converted & rewired the dashboard, fitted new wheel, fitted all new seat covers (complicated job on these later seats), door cards, door furniture. Result, I think!

Fully charged the battery, but found that the starter will still not engage (inertia-type). Will fit a spare next week, although on my car that means removing a lot of stuff like spotlights, grille, oil cooler and sump guard.

Slaved in the boot floor (again), fitted rear subframe, rear holes on one side didn’t live up on one side (front to rear perfect, width out by 5mm)
Removed floor, fitted subframe, refitted floor
All good. Today will be levelling car and checking the geometry
