Finished an all night engine swap on my brothers minis, it was -3c in the garage at 4am...
Why do we never do these things in the summer near the beach!

Because beer and BBQs ;D

Took it for it's free MOT at Halfords, and it passed, just 2 advisories Seat Belt webbing fraying and minor leak of exhaust gases from the centre section of the exhaust.

:proud: :proud: :proud: :proud:. This is hopefully the last MOT it will need as it will be 40 on the 1st Jan 2020.

check with your insurance company, they might insist on an MOT, even when it's 40 years old, to prove it's roadworthy.

No galloping rot on the Mini now (or there won't be after Aprils visit), Halfords were very helpful they even adjusted the headlights free of charge

That is better than my last visit some years ago.

They broke the headlamp adjusters on my Cinquecento I had at the time and then denied all knowledge saying they must have been like it.

I know they weren't because I had been adjusting them against the garage door the night before.

Anyway, glad it all went well!

Had a week off work so have enjoyed not having to rush jobs...

New longer wheel studs fitted to suit the reverse rims

painted up in the wheel arches and subframes

straightened my wonky exhaust

fixed the offside front brake

fitted all new chrome bumpers and grille

fitted spot lamps and wired in

fitted a voltmeter

I wonder why it wasn't working. Can't figure it out.
