Not the Mini directly but definitely related.

I got into a bit of a mess :shy:

A few weeks, a dozen trips to the tip and four bays of racking later

Still need another purge through all the stuff and the back shelving needs a sort out but at least I can get in and work on the traveller again :proud:

But do you know where it all is though?
I had the “ wouldn’t it all be better in clear plastic boxes? “ Then she realised how many were needed, and it added to my confusion!
You have a Pit!
Top job that, big difference.

Wish I had a pit!

I took the rest of my engine ancillaries off and unbolted all the stabilisers etc, so I can take the engine out in the next day or so.  Then see what's what.

Battery charged up, so fired up the engine after replacing all the cooling system.
All fine apart from a little leak from one of the thermostat housing bolts.

Might be just be a gasket not sitting right. Will check at the weekend.

I've found the pit pretty useless, too short too shallow - better working off my hydraulic ramps or axle stands. It's great for storing engines though, there's  one Commer engine, a Sunbeam Rapier engine, a Humber Sceptre engine, a Morris minor gearbox, a mini gearbox casing and a few Minor half shafts down there :proud:

I got some clear boxes for some of the stuff but most of it is either too big or things I use a lot.

Probably leaking up through the threads on the bolt. A bit of sealant on the thread should cure it.

Had a long drive in the sunshine, MOT time tomorrow so thought it would be good to have a shakedown. fingers crossed all is good. Let see what the MOT man says tomorrow.

MOT Passed.. Happy Days, still had a few issues with emissions test (go through this every MOT), MOT man thinks the CAT maybe blocked, it is the original one so I will get a new one sorted. still it passed that's the main thing. Celebrated with a 35 mile blast.... the long way home.

Thanks. I'll take out the bolt and put some sealant on the threads.

Fitted some of my Xmas gifts, new radio/mp3 player, chrome bootlid handle and replaced the black door handles with chrome. Also found this old sticker in the garage.

Just washed and dried it and then a seagull left its calling card on the bonnet and wing

Looking good in the sunshine

Looks like you forgot to do the driver side door handle?

Great looking car! I had one similar a few years ago. By no means as nice though.

Well spotted , the reason I didn't change the drivers side is that the door is going to be replaced by Ben at Mill Road Garage in April so thought I would leave it to Ben to fit the new Chrome handle.

That's a fine looking GT. My blue one of many years ago was great but not that mint. I did put my 1310 with Downton head and Holbay inlet, so it went well enough. If only I had had hindsight and kept it.
