Checked coolant level since the refill.
Re-routed the heater valve cable.
Re-fitted front grille.

It’s ready for a drive!

A nice day on Saturday..changed the oil , replaced a broken headlight adjustment motor, put in new self tappers around the grill, put in a new boot switch, took off the bonnet stripes in preparation for the new ones.. but still to clean off the old glue.... and of course went for a drive just for the sheer hell of it.

What settings did you have? I am going to put similar adjustables on mine when it goes back together....sometime in the future.

I dumped the evans waterless coolant out of my system, possibly prematurely as it is getting hot whilst idling in my garage. New 1380 engine, which I am told will run hot for a while anyway as it is new and tight. Refilled with plain water for the run in period. May revisit evans in future. Lot of people on here expressing thoughts about it, but no one seems to have tried it.

I have tried it, obviously. It is a nice colour. Slightly gloopy too.

More filler work, it's minimal for the welding it's needed to be honest.... Oh and the mini door company are fantastic at repairing and skinning doors

Personally I think it's far too expensive to give any real gains. £10 for 5litres ready mixed antifreeze or £90 for Evans. It's a no brainer, plus if I do get a leak I can use water to top up with

Tried to get the brake master cylinder out. Could I get to the clevis pin? What a pain in the *****! Steering column and heater hoses off. Clutch one came out but the brake one just doesn't want to spin so I can get pliers on it...no joy yet. All part of the stripping ready to go on my newly acquired jig.

Still I did give the engine a clean. It will need splitting (needs to be oil tight) before going back in but that is some way down the line (years probably)
