Brought her a friend

..looks like it might be a little while before they can go out to play together though ?

Yes you are completely right - but if I am being honest the sills and other bits are probably better the my current driving mini! lol

Think my plans would be - sort the front, good paint - transfer all my current bits over from my mini (loads of work gone into engine and running gear) then have 1 road going mini whilst I spend a few years making my original into something special/different for us both to enjoy - but that could all change as everyone knows life can be hard work  :tumble:

I have adjusted the valve clearances. Pretty boring to do alone, so I took the garage troll to help.

Could be wrong, but your brake pedal switch mount is the wrong way round.

What do people use for the silver/bare metal parts so they look new, besides cleaning them. I'm currently cleaning everything on mine and want the parts to look like new, like the wiper motor above.

I blast or wire wheel the part, then spray it silver.

I am just going to do the final spraying of the doors for my 1990 Cooper rally car project. Nice afternoon for a bit of painting.

Fitted anti squeal shims to front pads, checked valve clearances and then took it for a run, now the brakes no longer make a noise and the engine is a little quieter and running very well.

Drove it for its first trip out in 6 years (in my ownership for 2 months). Only a few miles to the garage for welding and MOT, fingers crossed for good news next week.

Driven for the first time in 6 years, as been off the road. Brilliant feeling, being back in the Mini, and ready for Imm!
