Time consuming but minor works on the switch panel.
Moved the choke from the bracket next to the column to the switch panel. Added the heater control in anticipation of actually getting a heater - other end just held in place with cable tie. Drilled out the old choke bracket to fit a Lucas switch for the washers. Moved the stereo, wired it in to the ignition and fitted a new aerial.

Fitted my new Superfins to replace the new cast iron drums bought from Minispares that were so badly machined and out of balance the car felt like it would shake apart. They exchanged them with no quibbles though and the Superfins look loads better plus weigh less than half as much so unsprung weight will be reduced significantly.

Shame my car isn’t fast enough to need the extra cooling!

Started to tackle the list of MOT failures:-

Adjusted washer jets so the spray actually hits the screen!
Cleaned up electrical contacts on the tail lights/ brake lights.

Next up is:-
Free up the nearside seatbelt - seems to be jammed at the moment.
Free up the offside rear drum brake
And replace nearside upper ball joint - not looking forward to this one as I’ve never done one before.

Also suspect the battery is on its way out as the engine is becoming increasingly harder to start. Will probably check the fan belt tension to see if the alternator is actually charging the system.

Up at 5 this morning to finish fitting an MED ST1 ultra light flywheel kit ... what a difference! The Verto assembly is never going to be truly light weight but the difference is more due to the fact that it's properly balanced which has transformed the feel all through the rev range. Very pleased and much better with an oil free clutch plate!

That's interesting, a Morris badge and Austin Cooper grille! Nice colour by the way... looks like 'Maroon B'...?
