Gave the Mini his identity back after ten years of nakedness, new stripes and decals :proud:

Currently back in the garage re-Cooperating

Also went back to black with the roof and gutter trim along with a set of Lucas Quadoptics, the last two courtesy  of Jeremy and his spares sale.

Fitted new Carbon-Metallic brake pads to the rally Cooper 'S', then took it out and bedded them in.

Adjusted the twin carbs to give 1300 rpm tickover, road-tested the car prior to this weekends fun on the Bath Lombard 2019 event.

Fitted the Mk1 to Mk3 Window conversion and fitted Dummy Door Hinges...

Just have to clean and fit the outside door window chrome trim

One day I will own a real MK1.

Finally painted the engine.

Rebuilt it with its ancillaries, then tucked it away again just before the rain came.

Tightened the rack U bolts. Actually goes in a straight line now! I swear they were torqued properly before..?

And I tensioned up the fan belt. Bye bye squeal.

And sorted the correct amount of free play on the throttle cable. The ECU is now much happier since the stepper motor can control the idle properly.

Fairly productive afternoon

Cut out the drivers side floor. Also had to remove half the crossmember to get to some of the rot. New floor is in place but not welded in just yet, tech screws are dogs dangles...

Took it for a spin after changing all the cones, shocks and fitting hi Los.... Got a strange wheel bearingy noise.... Hadn't torqued up the rear wheels.
Dangers of starting a job and only finishing it a month later! Completely forgot the rear wheels were only finger tight.
