Finally got the clutch and brakes bled on my mk2 cooper and got it moving under its own power, first time since 1998, so very pleased with what I achieved today, just need to finish putting together and wait for the good weather now

(Not today but yesterday)
Finally fitted new inner CV gaitors and ball joints, put it all back together and for the first time since about October it's on all 4 wheels with the bonnet on!
Just need a chance to take it out now.

Tried to remove clutch housing cover , what a job , still can’t get to the rear bolt at the bottom, clutch is seized so trying to free it off .

tried driving it in 4th and braking hard but no joy ( brakes are poor ) so I need to see what’s wrong inside , car has been sitting for many years and is a complete restoration job .

Following the respray being completed, my son and I have now installed the engine. Very pleased with the results so far, for a pair of first timers. Now to sort the electrics!!!

Did a bit more work on a couple of SPI inlet manifolds. One on the right is nearly done, one on the left has only had its initial clean up so I can see how bad it is...it’s bad, probably the worst I’ve ever seen, the pipes and 2 of the core plugs are rusted through but it’s thankfully saveable!
