Removed the old clutch master cylinder and have decided to replace it as it looks to worn to sort.

Welding. Again. And again,

Made the repair on the lower flitch panel.

One step closer to put the new floor back in place.

Next step is to finish the repair patch for the companion bin closer.

Annoyed at myself, spent couple days fixing wiring in back dash. Refitted made sure I had reconnected everything. Put all the dash back together, then realised I haven't reconnected my Speedo cable!

Got my brand new spare compressor out of its box after buying it 5 years ago.
Turned it on... Off.
Decided it was much too loud (96db@2m) so this happened:Attached File  _20200407_125229.JPG   42.25K   4 downloads
It now has the compressor in an insulated box with sound barriers made of foam and air filters. It also has an integrated ventilation system now. ?

Only produces 63db@2m now, not perfect but WAY better. Need to clear the garage now so I can actually do some work on the mini, which was the whole point of this project... ?

Looked at it, cursed at it, put some clamps on to see if I could pull the inner wing into A post and bulkhead.
Decided against it, swept up and left.

Head is off at the machine shop for valve seats, so doing some minor tidy ups while the car is off the road.

1. Painted the rocker cover and thermostat housing

Attached File  IMG_0209.JPG   85.62K   1 downloads

2. Changed the steady bar bushes - bulkhead bolt was rusted to sleeve so had to drill the head off and then lever the bush out.

3. Painted the filler neck and replaced the neck seal

4. Cut radiator threaded bushes down

The car came with this aluminium rad and only two shroud to rad bolts had been fitted. Turned out that the rad was 10 mm bigger than the shroud, so I sawed 5 mm off each bush on the front and rear. Shroud now fits properly.

5. Removed and cleaned the fan. Glad I did as it was fitted the wrong way round!

Removed the bonnet stripes so it looks less like a cooper wannabe. Then washed and polished it.

I wonder how many horsepowers I've lost without the stripes ;)
