Thought I'd prepped everything for mot but failed on rear brakes.

On a positive note Japanese tinted wind deflectors arrived this morning. duly fitted ? loving the look

New tyres on, bulkhead soundproofed, interior now finished.

Stood back and gazed lovingly

Ads,

What do the deflectors look like? Any chance of a photo? ?

Found the problem with no fuel, needle valve stuck. Have a rebuild kit and a ultrasonic cleaner so all good and clean now.

Car had been sat for quite a while. Probably 4 years sinsce last started.
Fuel pipe were rotten aslo, probably the ethenol in the fuel they put in here in Norway.

Been quite a few vintage car getting fuel leaks. Best to replace all fuel hoses with new qualitys stuff.

Replaced the front pulley seal and timing chain cover gasket, in the vain attempt to stop the oil leaks.

Went over to see a potential up and coming project car that wouldn't start. Took the tools, carb cleaner and some blue roll. Took the carb off, stripped out the float and piston and proceeded to back purge the jet and float chamber with carb cleaner. This is what came out. Car now runs like a dream.

Also finally fitted the NOS badges to the car.

Subframes back from shot blasting. A couple of plates added to rear by way . Front fine. Just added a few more welds and then gussets to the front tie rod mount. Ready to be red oxided and glass black tomorrow.

spent 3 hours replacing my old wind mirrors because they were fitting with bolts inside the door skin instead of inserts they are meant to have.

Finally re-started actually doing some work on it. Stripped the front subframe down, all bar the lower suspension arms which I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove - I think the pins are just rusted in place. This weekend, start cleaning the subframe and various bits ready to rebuild it, and probably watching some welding videos. It's really slow work, although once I figured out what I was doing, the second side went a lot faster. The subframe is actually completely solid and has minimal surface rust, which is good news.
