hey ,anyone installed their fuel pump with an inertia switch or similar?
ive have mine wired to the pro mo modded loom through its ignition fed relay but is an additional safety measure required to cut the pump in the event of a collision ? if so what ?
cheers

It can also be done off the oil pressure switch. Engine stops, oil pressure drops, turns off fuel pump.

Safer with an inertia switch as if you have an accident it will cut the fuel and therefore cut the engine if you are upside down in a ditch and the engine is still happy to run for a while !!!
The mounting/positioning of the inertia switch is critical.
Mount it in a place that is liable to shock loads can cause false trigger and stop the engine unintentionally and likewise mount in a place that gets little shock and it may only work in roll over crashes.
When I have worked on this with OEM's we have taken quite an enginerring exercise to ensure the corect positioning of these type of switches.
Must trigger when required and not give any false triggers as a requirement.

The MPI has one fitted as standard, copy it in every detail, then you'll have a good chance of it working as intended

I've had a quick look there is nothing special about the mounting, basically it's a vertical plate on the dash part of the bulkhead which faces forward, it's mounted on a spot welded bracket but this could very easily copied. I'm sure someone will along with a picture if not I can put one up
