hello just a quick 1 i bought a shell with a 1275 a+ engine with it, whats the easiest way to find out if its a genuine a+ engine i.e is there a surton starting letter or number on the engine thanks peoples!!!
(oh and by the way the engine hasnt been used since its had a full gasket set by the previous owner and is up for sale)!
1275 a+ or is it?

Get a close up shot of where the distributor bolts into the block, that's one of the differences to spot! :wink:

I think its an A. Get some more pics up and will be able to tell better (im going off clutch and dizzy, could be wrong though)

It's a A+, you can tell from the position of the alternator mount points, and yes 1275 head and block ( two core plugs on the end )
What variety can only be determined by the engine number, check the FAQ'S for this.

As GW said. Also, may be a very eary A+ as it has a diaphragm clutch and not a Verto. But this may have been swapped out at a later date :nugget:
