Hi guys.

Recently bought this mini and just wondering if we paid a good price for it. We're not thinking of selling, just wondering how much it would be worth.
If anyone can help it will be really appreciated.

Was bit of an impulse buy and we hadn't really looked into mini prices, ages, models etc before handing over the cash. It was extremely local to us, was well within our budget and maybe it was bit of a careless thing to do i understand but everything about the purchase felt right. Proper genuine seller, car looks spot on bar a few tiny blemishes in the paint work. Looks and (from stacks of paperwork handed over) sounds like it's been looked after really really well but all previous owners.

- 1993
- Mini Cooper 1.3i
- 57,000 Miles (with MOTS and history to back up mileage)
- MOT and tax due end of July 2010 (but these would be renewed regardless of cost)
- British Racing Green with white roof, white stripes, chrome arches and trim, spot lamps etc etc.
- Had new decat manifold and straight through twin centre exit exhaust. (is a sports exhaust and I have forgotten the brand but will edit when i remember)
- Halogen Light Conversion
- Fully welded and sealed underneath
- over £600 spent on recent full service. (all fluids & filters changed, new battery, new peardorp links, new gaskets etc etc)
- Black leather with red piping interior and matching door cards (all in amazing condition)
- Original wood dash, gear knob and wooden steering wheel
- Sony xplod headunit with bluetooth and usb/ipod connectors and sony xplod speakers built into rear wooden parcel shelf.
- All tyres have tonnes of tread on them
- Full set of brand new GROUP 5 Arches and original CAT were included in the sale

(there is probably lots, lots more but i can't quite remember at the moment)

Bodywork is in fantastic condition. There is a few tiny blemishes in the paint work and a few very small patches of rust (one in centre of bottom of windscreen and some ever so slight bubbling around the corner of the passenger door) and a few patches of laquer starting to peel off the passenger door (approx 3 inches wide) but apart from that, the car is genuinely in great condition!

All bodywork is due to be fully repaird by a mini specialist within next few weeks, but this is how she stands now.

Few pictures taken 02/05/2010
(car has not been cleaned in the pictures for a while. Weather was horrible and car was very dirty so please excuse the dirt)

More pictures available upon request.

If anyone could stab a guess at how much this would be worth then we'd be very grateful.

Grazie mille!

As the car stands today, it is worth Circa £2000, deal with the bodywork imperfections to a high standard then it would be worth £2950 may be a tate more as the market for "minters" is on fire at the moment

By the way the windscreen surround is lifting I would budget for a replacement scuttle if your "mini specialist" does a proper job.
Also the N/S A panel

I would value it at £1500

.... if your "mini specialist" does a proper job.

Is that meant to be some sort of dig?

No.
But there are various ways to repair the scuttle from filler to patching to replacing the panel.

In my opinion a proper job is to replace the panel to ensure that the rust is cut out and not to return

Ok. Anyway........

We're looking at late June/Early July to get it properly stripped back to its bare metal, all rust work completely removed, new panels etc... and then full respray.

A very good friend who lives in our village has rebuilt and owned over 12 classic minis' (2 of which were magazine front cover featured during the 90's) so pretty sure we're in good hands in terms of bodywork.

Thanks for the genuine replies guys. We're new to the mini scene and appreciate any help offered.

Are yo planning on having the body shell stripped and dipped / shotblasted or a paint off outer bare metal respray?

I picked up a 1993 SPi Cooper like yours, has had some work around the headlamps and has a few blisters here and there for £1200. On the plus side it did come with FSH, a re-con box & brand new alloys from Huddersfield.
