Has anyone any expirience of fitting a boot pop solenoid to a smoothed off boot? I have seen kits that claim to be universal, but they are fairly expensive when compared to what you can buy a solenoid for on Ebay.
Would a door/boot pop or central locking solenoid do the job and what additional parts would be required to complete a job like this?

i used a fiesta solenoid on my 106 when i had it.

i made it up as i went along butit worked fine. As long as you get the catch and all the bits in the right place it should be fine.

i reccon you could just use a solanoid and a switch. wired into the dash to pop the boot. then you got to wire it all and make the solinoid saty were you want to open it.
