As per title, Has it ever been done? I don't mean as a stretch limo, But lengthening the body and adding rear doors?

I'm sure normally Taffy would have all the info I'm after :)

Cheers

My hard drive! :)
I don't know much about them, I think BMC experimented with a 4 door and made a prototype. There are a handful of 4 doors like the red one floating around, but they are rather rare.

Shame they never made production. One of them would enable me to use the mini every day and stop people moaning about buying a bigger car! :)

I wonder how much weight they add and how they handle

There was a company who were creating 4 door Minis back in the early 1990's. There was a feature in an early edition of Mini World Magazine and the company and a few of their cars appeared at the Cooper Register day at Beaulieu around the same time.

I'm pretty sure they were badged as Mini Majors.

I posted something about this a while ago, the original photo is gone from the thread. Ill see if i can find it. Ouster posted the same pictures in that thread too! The maroon car was one of two made.

There was a project one on ebay a bit back, but some *illegitimate person* had butchered it to fit on some 4x4 chassis :)

Didnt look too bad rust wise, but it needed a new front end and would need a custom floor making to repair the butchering. Dont know if it sold, might be worth looking into if your after a project one, WRLondon?
