Ok, just finished doing it. Ballsed up one side, but the other went well.
I cut the inner chrome ring to allow it to stretch out an extra 1cm. The hole alignments are ever so slightly out, but this doesn't effect it too much.
I cut it in half between the solid fixing hole and the lower headlight retainer clip, so the ring stays in the correct position without the headlight falling about.
Looks good I think!
I'm now looking for another inner ring from a later Wipac bowl to re-do the passenger side!

It's a right pain in the backside to get right, and cut all the old brackets off, but when it's done it's definately worth it!

Do those have the side light bulb in? Just wondering what they would look like it in a clubby.

Yep, they've got a sidelight hole in. Could just put a sticker over this hole that was black, would blend in with the smoked black lens.
And the bulbs are the standard bulbs I believe (and hope!), haven't loked at detail at the sidelights.
Cheers

Here's pictures as promised of where I cut the inner headlamp ring to make these lamps 'fit':
Between the fixed point and the 1st headlamp clip.
The outer ring has to have some of the lip trimmed off too, as it doesn't clear the part of the inner ring where the 1st clip goes (due to the inner ring now being 'larger')

To anyone thinking of doing this, unless you're ready to completely hack everything apart I wouldn't bother
I've had to:
Cut the inner rings,
Grind back the edges of the outer rings
Cut a big hole in the plastic bowls to let the sidelight holders sit through
Cut back the fixed screw holder to make the lights sit back in the bowls further
It's been a bloomin' nightmare! Good luck to anyone else brave enough to do it

just got back from a trip to dusseldorf and you will never believe what is parked in one of the duty free shops in the airport. yep a full mini convertible with 13" compomotive rims (on wobble nuts) fitted with cross hair lamps looks well cool in the middle of the shop.
