Hi guys,

Just thought I would let you know how I got on at a rolling rd session today at minispeed. After changing from a carb (after blowing it uplast year) to injection engine and getting Pro-motive to fit it, the car was fitted with a power commander (bought from ROOFLESS, Thanks Martin) and set up by them using a base map. So its out of the box really with the k+n filter, playmini 2" system with single box, 95 ron fuel and not super as I couldnt find it this morning at the petrol station i use!
I had to fit 12" wheels as the sump would not have cleared the floor otherwise!

It made 156 BHP on its first run and its never been played with at all. The guy said the fueling was spot on through the full range and that it was best to leave it alone.
So no need for a special map to be made?
Just thought anyone building one might like to know that.

check out the vid

was this power output at the wheels?
or was it a calculated flywheel figure?

Saw your car in Brighton during L2B I think, if so it looks amazing. Good to see it's got some serious power aswell.

You would have thought that seeing as the power is being taken at the driving wheels this is the figure you would have first.
The calculted flywheel figures can be pretty misleading if they use a percentage differance between the 2.
basically if they say its 25pc difference, you have an 850 mini putting out around 30hp at the wheels then the flywheel figure would be 37.5bhp,only a 7.5hp loss between the 2.
Then you get a 1380 motor putting out 120hp at the wheels, the flywheel figure will be 150hp!!!?
a 30hp loss.
I really dont understand why some companys use this method as its completely misleading.
You will lose between 12hp(well built straight cut box) and 20hp(worn out standard helical cut) regardless of how much power the motor makes.

Hi,

I assume it was at the flywheel, although i may be wrong. the print out is all in kph and other forms of measurements i dont understand. for example the speed he got upto was 151kph.
after the run he got the calculator out and told me the figure. ill ring them tomorrow and ask to confirm.
