Got the new TPS today from the US.

Only cost $40 and works fine. Engine now starts and revs like it should.

Amazing how a part here is £200 and you can get it in the US for $40. Anyway another problem solved. on to the next one.

interesting that theres a replacement throttle position sensor available in the states i was always told that you couldnt get one seperatly from the throttle body
common problems weve found on std honda looms are water temp wires and coilpack wires seem to get loose as al suggests weve had a number of those it would appear the stock looms wont stand a lot of assembly and disassembly without becoming slack fit on the pins
other common problem is the engine jumping a tooth on the timing chain first time you start it doesnt harm motor but makes for poor starting and no power on full throttle
a lot of tuners dont understand the hydra and wont get the best from it as they are unfamiliar with it
cold start and part throttle in particular needs individual attention
however as in this case its easy to jump to a conclusion the ecu or loom is wrong when in fact its the throttle position
throttle position is critical to every part of the engines mapping as its directly proportional to the fuel air ratio get it wrong and you will be miles out everywhere
my demo cars run for 5 years on a hydra ecu and stock loom no problems at all and its had some serious abuse up and down our demo route on race tracks etc etc
i just fitted it and left well alone
if you have to remove plugs from sensors take care to unclip them correctly and dont pull on the wires themselves pull on the plug
also if you are struggling give us a call we can often help in a few mins rather than spending loads of time doing things you dont need to
