OK, maybe this is better posted in the general discussion forums of this site, but I don't hang out there. Those of you who frequent this part of the board are the ones who know me.

In the U.S., the fourth Thursday in November is a national holiday, Thanksgiving. It's the only U.S. holiday that hasn't been overshadowed with commercial hype. It's a time to gather with friends and (primarily) family to celebrate and give thanks for all that you have, to mourn those who have passed away during the past year, and to rejoice in a potentially better year yet to come. It is a time marked by overindulgence in food, a tradition started by the Pilgrims who would not have survived on this continent had it not been for a couple of good harvests and the charity of the American Indians.

I've been away for a couple of days celebrating with my own family. I wish for all of you a prosperous and successful new year, the joy of having family and friends, and the beginning of a wonderful Christmas season. Happy Thanksgiving!

This is indeed the holiday marked by eating roast turkey and watching "football". However, I'm not into sports so my activities involve eating turkey and tons of deserts followed by a lengthy nap on the couch... and more deserts.

Happy Thanksgiving to all !!!

Little late, Happy Thanksgiving. My folks live in the states so they were invited round for a meal with friends, said it was really good.
