Thnx CptKirk. Sad to say, but I have received any answer from ZCars last Friday and not even today. Tomorrow I will phone ZCars again.

Maybe more info with the next update...

The diff and driveshafts have got to last more than a few hundred miles, it doesn't matter if the diff went first and broke the driveshafts or the driveshafts broke the diff or there is no connection with either. After 5 months surely it's time this was sorted.

Just got of the phone with ZCars and he (sorry, but forgot his name :)) had good news for me.
The diff is sent out today as replacement! Thanks ZCars for this support! I really appreciate this!

Glad to hear it, I'll bet you are looking forward to having it back on the road, especially after all the time you have had to wait......

I concur that whenever I had a problem with a part supplied by Zcars they did replace them, you cannot fault them for that.

That is totally true CptKirk, but we had an issue on the price because of a trashed diff that was caused by a snapped driveshaft.

Quick update:

2.5 weeks ago I received the diff from ZCars! Thank you very much for that ZCars!

This week we finally have normal temps, so no freezing hands when working on the car. Got the diff in, but have to take the hub and shaft apart on the left hand side because it does not go 100% in the diff (it is still sticking 1" out). So hopefully one day work and then we can go out for out spin again!

i will keep you all posted!

Good to hear you got something back, lets hope it just needs a little persuasion to get it to fit properly again....

when putting the shaft in, make sure you put a small amount of thick grease on the circlip to hold it centre on the shaft, you will spend a week hammering it if its not in the centre, but if you bend the circlip to help it go in, the shaft could pop out which is scary when giving it death !!

First part for Simon @Zcars: thanks a lot for double checking the shafts out!

Second part:
The shafts went in perfect, but I ripped it apart again. I have to weld my nut to the diff and next I can put the nipple in... Uhhm, ok... my fault, this is not what I meant  . The diff did not come with a grease nipple, because it was sent out too quick (thanks for the quick service (positive!)), so tomorrow I will drill a hole, weld a steel nut onto the diff and put the grease nipple in it. On Saturday I will put it all together and take the Mini out for a spin.
