I am still having doubts about the oil pressure in my hayabusa. According to the manual the oil pressure should be between 28-71psi @ 3000rpm (60degrees). My digidash is only showing about 22psi which is worrying. I have tried a thicker oil but it didn't make any difference. I tried a different sender unit which showed even worse!! about 14psi @3000rpm going down to 0 at idle!!! I'm not sure if the engine is knackered or the gauge is wrong. It sounds and runs fine.

I have my sender unit connected to the oil pressure test point on the right hand side of the engine and I was thinking of moving it to where the existing oil pressure switch is by using a T-piece. Can anybody else tell me where they are picking up their oil pressure from??

Thanks, Ben.

I would try a mechanical pressure guage and compare the results.
The sender unit you have is it supplied by digidash ?

Thanks Allan,

Yes the sender was from digidash. I did try another one which showed worse results but that one was not from digidash so may have been the wrong spec.

I am getting a proper pressure tester today to connect directly, so fingers crossed its just the gauge!

Do you have your sender in place of the old pressure switch or in the oil gallery test plug?

I just run the original oil light using the original oil pressure switch.
The motorbike world dont run oil pres guages (not often) and on most race bikes they dont even run a light.
This might not be the best way but I never had any problems in 17 years racing.

You're quite right.
I think it's better if you don't know! I was fine until I installed the oil pressure gauge and now I'm full of doubts!!
