I'm pretty sure a decent glass cutters will grind it for you. I got a windscreen made up for the westy and they had to grind it into shape.

As stated, tempered glass can't be cut and laminated glass often has similar problems. Years ago our VW Rabbit (a.k.a. Mk1 Golf?) had the 1/4 vent window hardware come "unglued" and fall out. I bought a replacement used window and tried to "drill" holes through using a carbide bit. My intent was to add fasteners to secure the hinges and latch. I got 1/2 way through and the glass shattered into a million little pieces... right under the watching eyes of my Mrs. I gave up and bought a "later" piece of glass that already had the holes I needed.

If its lamiated then you might get away with cutting it. Score both sides then poor a little bit of lighter fluid or similar over it and set fire to it. This melts the laminate inside and makes it breakable.

But as said, any decent glass specialists should be able to sort you out.

Tempered or toughend glass can not be cut and if you try, expect lots of little bits of glass :nugget: . It' s cut prior to the heat treatment for this reason.
