i dont want to make it look heavy, its quite hard to get it looking right when your making something like this, bit of trial and error, worth it when its done though.

i'm not sure i'm liking the arches like that, got it outside and i dont think it looks right. there are two ways that i can make the arches wider, i'll just do the other way now, i think it will be ok.

if you look, this is how the arch is now, with a 60mm strip in the middle where i made it wider

Posted Image

butn in this picture there is a 60mm strip in the middle, but then it go's down to nothing at the ends, this isn how i will make them now.

i've made a start on my rear arches, a job i've been putting off a bit but the hard part is done now, shaping them up to look right, i had to change them a bit because they were rubbing on bumps a bit.

i've been working on my arches, but i did'nt put enough hardener in the fibre glass paste, so while it is setting i fitted my stereo head unit, i wanted it fitted out of the way, to keep it retro. so i've mounted it under the dash, next to the bonnet pull.

cut my front end off  managed to get it all off without wrecking it  cut it off at the door so that the A panels are still on the wings.
i'm making it into a flip front. i want to try the new motor in before i take it off the road, so i need to be able to put the front back on :?

Got your work cut out there, well done for what you have achieved! seems like a very complicated mini build.
Good luck

then this year, three weeks before the mini showdown i thought it would be a good idear to give my car a makeover.

the only thing is i cant spray my car in one go, i have to do it in two halfs.
i started with the back half, straightening the rear and side panels, preping the wheel arches and the boot lid, then painting it all.

then i turn it around and started on the front, i've welded the dash top, a bit of rust damage and to get rid of the spare holes, and the scuttle panel, again rust damage and to get rid of the spare wiper holes.

last night i got the front all primed including the front inner wings.

thats all the shell in green  got started on the front end, ive repared the a panels and have started to make my front spoiler,  yes a front spoiler, i'm making it from steel, if i like it i'll make it front alloy, but for now.....
so i'll be mounting it, not welding it on.

so much to do, no time to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

got my windows back in, but had to have a play first. i broke my last windscreen, so i lost my DUNLOP sun strip, so what i've done is paint the inside of the window the same colour as the car, so now i've got a BRG sunstrip

Posted Image

also i've added a little black stripe to the bottom of the silver one on the side.

Posted Image

after some late nights i got it done in time ( just )
