Hi all, having just bought a 1966 cooper with a 1293 gt engine in it, just a couple of questions, looking from the front behind the engine on the right hand side there is a copper pipe attached it is about 3/4 inches long and is not going anywhere, also just behind on the left hand side the is a small K & N type air filter attached. Thanks in advance for your help, any advice will help

Does this engine have removable tappet chest covers, if so its not a 1275 GT but may be much more interesting. The pipe on the right - if it come from the tappet chest and then turns downwards, its the breather vent. Same on the other side, but not a standard fitting or is it coming from elsewhere? A pic would be helpful, but the position is awkward. Do you have an engine number?
