The rear subframe came out today, it all got stripped down and boxed up the radius arms, drums etc

Looks like I'll be buying a pair of rear subframe mount panels, but this was exactly what I expected!

Subframe bolts came out fairly easily, I've been spraying them with penetrating fluid for a few days, a bit of heat and off they came!

I managed to strip the thread on one of them, but my mate and the trusty angle grinder soon dealt with that!

Hi Carlos - good to see you getting stuck in. Doesn't the rust get you down. Keep at it. Looking forward to seeing how you get on.

I'm glad you've seen this Hugh, i was considering sending you the link! I found a small hole on the edge of the spare wheel well which I didn't expect today, but your thread has given me a good idea of what I will find as they all go in the same places

Exactly, some people use risk assessments as a way of getting out of stuff!

After an interesting few months (long story) the project is progressing again! 80 quid worth of steel made me a spit! (Thanks to my mates for paying for the metal for my birthday) and thanks to Chris for his skill!

That looks superb Carlos. It will make it really convenient to work on. In many ways I wish I'd done something like that but I always go for the cheep option. My son just helped me turn it upsides down on some tyres. Look forward to seeing you get stuck in at it. All the best

Thanks Hugh, I hoped to get the shell done this year, but I'm running out of time and these things shouldn't be rushed!

Made the locking mechanism for the spit today!

Most of my time recently has been spent on getting my mondeo through its MOT (New exhaust, drop links, caliper etc etc)

I'm determined to fix the rotorvator which is taking up my work bench, then get a vice mounted and the garage tidied this week, then I can crack on with the boot floor!

Well I've given up with the rotorvator, I'm not throwing money at it to find out I can't fix it!

Ordered some ear plugs from ebay, need some before I can do any more grinding or I'm going to damage my hearing!

Hopefully they'll arrive in the morning and I'll crack on tomorrow!
