I wouldn't take much more off it without doing some bracing, last thing you want is rusty and twisted shell.

Some of the panels, i.e. wings & quarter panel were very badly attached. A bodged repair me thinks. Probably promoted alot of the rust. But made it very easy to remove them.

Going to keep an eye on this one!

You have my full respect...

Like the rear window sticker, too!

I'm a bit of a rear-engine Skoda fan....

Good luck, mate! :-

Just had a look at your thread. Good to see someone else is as brave as me, lol. I think yours is trying to compete in the rusty stakes! But looking good so far.
Good luck.

Yikes!!!! .... I've heard quite few people here say phrases like "anything is salvageable with enough skill, money, time and inclination" etc...... but it certainly looks like you're gonna test that theory with this one!!.... Best of luck with it though!! :-

Just a quick question if anyone is passing...how do I get the rear view mirror off. It's the type with the suction cup on the windscreen. I think there maybe a cover over some screws that go into the screen frame. Don't want to force it & brake it. Thanks.

pull the cover downwards, it'll reveal 3 screws! it should just pop off

jesus mate! thats alot less car than i thought it would of been! i would of been tempted to find a better shell, even a later one, and retro fit the roof from this one to retain the drip rails, and retro fit the mk3 front subframe, other than that (as its not a early mk3 which retained the hole in the rear seat like mk1s and 2s) the shells aint much different.

good luck with it though, will be amazing to see it rise like a bluetit from the bushes (instead of a phoenix from the ashes) lol
