It looking very nice, liking all the alloy bits, specially the thermostat steady bar might have to get one myself but cost might stop me.

The steering lock, might be worth looking at the old MG one's go to ebay BHM7144, don't know if they fit or if it sticks out as much, but I do know the switch itself fits some of the original early mini clubman ones fitted as I got the switch unit(not the lock) for my 71 clubby, they do look the same as well, well looks the same as the one that's on mine, but not sure how much it sticks out. Could be worth a try as you can pick them up cheap enough, if I'm wrong sorry for pointing you in wrong direction but sometimes these things pay off with the rarer items.

Thanks , this one is off mg and corresponding switch... only certain ones fit . Now lowered works better and less fiddly than original one close to cowling

Thanks again

Well I’ve put it off for a while ...and life got in the way on several planned occasions

Will start the manifold swap. lcb has to come out as it it fouls on driveshaft...( will keep lcb for another project / different gearbox)

Will see how much paint comes off shell when wrestling with it

Funnily enough I recently swapped manifolds other way round on the sprite - free flow to lcb

Right exhaust off again

Manifold out ... with a little lateral thinking . Span front wheel to turn driveshaft which , pushed against lcb and gracefully wound out the exhaust through the gap. Now gonna try same trick in reverse to get other one in ... may need hammer persuasion !

‘Air’ on the side of caution with those rims!
