those dashs normally have brackets on the back, check inside the glove box, loosen that one and work your way along.

cheers, will do when it's light haha

they are usually screws with them butterfly nut things on them, i think its on the left once looking in the glove box, you should be able to stick your arm in towards the right and loosen that one aswell.

the 3rd i think is usually inbetween the eye ball vent and the gauges on the drivers side.

This isnt ment to sound patronising but i really dont know how you younger people manage to insure your minis and run them at the price of your insurance.I have just got a quote for my highly modified mini its a vauxhall 16v engine rollcage, removable front ect and it was £179 and i thought that was dear.

i dont mean this in an answering back way, but it takes a lot of hard work to keep them on the road! i worked my backside off through the summer to buy my mini, worked on the farm and earned 2k, this put me through my lessons and test, then brought me the car. I then got a job working weekends in a garden centre while i was still at school to pay for insurance, then any money from birthdays or tips or odd jobs i did went towards mods such as the seats, speakers, carpets, dash, arches, fogs, spots, grill, exhaust, air filters, rocker cover etc etc! and im so glad my parents didnt pay for it all, because i now know how much things cost, and when i go into the big wide world i wont get a shock and get myself into debts!

i think you will struggle to get insurance under £2000 if your on your own policy, espec with the air filter, exhaust and manifold, wheels, neons and stereo system!

its personally not my cup of tea, i like things sporty looking but unless your careful in the next few jobs you do, this could verge on being chavvy if im being brutely honest! i think your right though, it does have potential i just hope you can release it!

My car, will never, ever be chavvy, as long as i live. And I'm debating taking the neons out. What would you do with her ?

i personally would defo take the neons off!

change that exhaust to a more subtle one, maybe an RC40 or centre exit maniflow!

the wheels would look better filling the arches a bit more i think

again personally maybe put an original type bonnet on and either change the wiperblades to black or put a mk1 moustash on the front in chrome, cant work out if that would go with the spot lights or not though

maybe loose the black stripe on the bottom of the sides and then get a new carpet that matches the carpet on the speaker boards, make it look like its there not to play dnb in tesco car park on a friday night but to give really good sound quality!

thats my ideas personally, it wont be to everyones taste i know, and at the end of the day its your car to do with as you see fit!

Well i think the car looks great aboves. He did say he would like it all one colour when he can.The wheels are nice. Not an ICE fan in a car but young people love it.It does not look like a CHAVs car its been well worked out.I know us older drivers like things classic,i do to.The carpet is fine.I like the dash and the other nice extras. They do take a bit of fitting, above has given you good advice on that one.In my young days they were Plas-plus full dash, plastic and very poor.My god they were a nightmare.I managed to get all the clocks out of a Dolly sprint in it but the holes and wires took some days.Thats a TOP car, wish mine was that smart when i was first on the road. The family must be pleased with you and the work.

exactly as above there is 3 brackets held on with butterfly clips its actually one of the parts i put on the car  one is between the vent and driving wheel one is just to the left of the dvd player as it is now and the other is just to the left of the glove box

cheers Lee
When the leak is sorted I'm going to wrop the dash in greyu or black vinyl or leather
the neons may prebably go
if the insurence is bad, so will the ice
and eventually it will have a new carpet, but will be a home job so that the speaker bord is done aswell
I also debated spacing the wheels out a little more
the front end is staying as it is and i'm keeping the stripes down the side
an eventual respray will be in one colour of a dark gum metal grey, with painted black stripes
but that is a lllooonnngggggg way off, i think, i'll just see how it goes

Yes i know what you mean Mistro it is easy to go to far and astray with ideas. At 20 you know much more than me about these things.I made a mistake buying a mates wifes Saxo V for a small runabout and got called an old Chav by many soon sold it to a 17 year old one.Having spent a lot on it for mods. i lost out loads.Glad the customer loved it.
Its great above l. to see a previous car still doing well.Insurance always ask about Hi-Fi (ICE) on cover,i think you would save a lot taking it out for a while. You could put it down for cover at a low value. The way many would take the car just to get it is a high risk and minis are only to easy.I might be old but i know how much you spend on these ICE set-ups.When a young driver i also liked a loud car but the kit was poor.
