does seem a bit strange the price to suddenly jump up, i know the prices of classics rise, but £2.5K in less then a day?

Funny how his first price was £12.5k then it went up to £15k and it's now on another website for only £11.5k. Still I wouldn't pay anywhere near that for it in it's current state, maybe if it was restored already.

Quotes from early Mini 'experts' on Mk1 performance:
A "reasonably" intact VERY, VERY early car, probably the earliest surviving genuine Mini in the country, possibly the world. Number 8 off the line is a remarkably early number and it is to a great extent complete & unmolested.
its just a shame it wasnt stored in a dry warm garage - but better to have been badly stored than just thrown away in the mid 1980's when it was worth nothing
As it goes....a very very early car.....pretty important...look at early split VW's...touching $60K....all minis are not created equal, one day this will be a very valuable car IMO...

A drivers door off a 59 /60 car will be very hard to find along with all the other bits and bobs.
Not sure about the trim. My Farina grey 1960 in the same colour has a blue brocade type but I am not sure about a 59 model.
Also the chassis numbers on the early cars may not mean #8 as due to demand some of the pre production cars were sold.
Valuable one day for sure but at cooper s money not worth anything like 11.5 for me but maybe someone in Japan or simular may see it differently?

Interesting and historic Mini, more photos here............second advert down:
http://www.1959minir...for-salewanted/
Considering the advert directly below is £11.5k for a fully restored pre-production Mini with twelve months MOT and tax i think id rather take the restored car.

we should have said to him that we have cars 101-106 stashed away and are fully restored and would sell for around £5000 each He is obviously someone that worries more about money than the car he owns and its heritage
" Sorry to wee on your chips" has to be one of the best phrases i have heard in ages
